The Head of the Hooch has taken place on the Tennessee River since 2005, with the finish line in front of the grandstand at Ross's Landing Park in Chattanooga, TN (201 Riverfront Parkway, Chattanooga, TN 37402). The venue offers convenient spectator areas, multiple access roads, trailer parking, and direct water access for launching and retrieving boats.
Road access to Ross's Landing is controlled from Wednesday at 10:00 AM through late Sunday afternoon. All vehicles entering the venue must display a completed contact information form on the dash including team name, contact name, and cell phone numbers for both a primary and alternate contact.

Boat Storage
Teams are asked to store as many shells as possible on trailers and boat trees. Boat trees may not be reserved by individual teams. Please consolidate wherever possible to maximize limited lay-down areas. Trees may be rearranged to fit boat length as needed. It is strongly recommended that teams bring their own boat trees, slings, and low boys.
Storage is at your own risk. The organizing committee does not stake or tie down trees. Teams should secure equipment against high winds. No boat laydown space is available in trailer parking lots until all spaces are filled; once full, excess space may be used for laydown. Keep all walkways marked by orange traffic cones clear at all times, particularly in Lots P8 and P9 where crews need access to launch and recovery docks.
